To close out 2014 and start off the new year, we will knit lacy snowflakes. The KAL features a special edition pattern for the small center-out medallion of Lacyflakes.
Small Center-Out Lacyflake snowflake medallion
Snow is beautiful, especially when you can stay warm and cuddly indoors while knitting snowflakes. This small snowflake medallion starts at the center and grows in lacy rounds until completed with a free-form lace bind off technique.

I understand I have to pay for the pattern, but where are the tips and techniques for knitting these snowflakes? Must I purchase the pattern before I can see the rest of the KAL articles?
I’ve made sure I’m logged in and it’s Dec. 20th but I can only add it to my cart there is no free download button. Is it because it’s too early on the 20th that I’m not seeing the download button yet? Thanks for any help.
Rita, You are on the Limited Content Level non-paid membership plan. Your membership does not come with free downloads of monthly patterns like the pre-paid membership plans on the Basic and Premium level do. However, on the membership level you are currently on, you do have the option to purchase at 50% discount during the limited time offer period. When you are logged in, you will see the coupon code on the KAL page that you can apply to your shopping cart to get the 50% off before checking out.
I’m fed up. Every month I have to fight with this site to access my supposedly free pattern. As you can see; most months I just give up in frustration. That’s why I’d never sign up for the premium membership. I’ll just ignore this site from now on. Very disappointed as the KAL patterns are lovely but I have more to do with my time than struggle with this site each month.
