How do you feel about purling? Hate it? Love it? Don’t care?
Just for fun, I’ve set up a member poll. Please cast your vote (there are no wrong answers, lol), then view the results to see the trend so far. You can also leave comments to tell us more.

For this month’s Yarn Pouch KAL, there is hardly any purl. So for those who hate to purl, you should especially love this project. I did throw a few purl stitches into the design of the lace edging (to help avoid curling), but if you really-really hate to purl they could be changed to knit stitches (just do a bit more blocking to tame the curl).
p.s. Do you have other fun poll questions you’d like us to do? It’s a great way for us to learn more about each other and have some fun. Serious and wild suggestions will all be considered!
I completed the shawl for my teddy bear and love the lace edging. It took a long time but definately worth it. Want to do the knitting bag also. Thank you, I have learned so much from your knit designs.
Congratulations on completing your teddy bear shawl.
So glad you are learnings lots. Hearing that helps make this labor of love worthwhile.
The other question related to purling, which occurred to me when I was working on an earwarmer today: I can do a continental purl and a combined purl (I knit continental) and sometimes do both in the same row when I’m decreasing to set up the K2tog and SSK for the next row. Both are about the same speed, though my continental purl is a little slower unless I do a lot of them at once. (I learned to do it only a few years ago.) It certainly saves time to set up my SSK however — I actually just slip (aka remount) the first one, leave the second as is, and K both through the back loop. But that’s more idiosyncratic than a generic type of question.
If you tried to vote and it said you had already voted, please try again. It looks like I had an incorrect setting that was blocking others from voting. Sorry about that!
